Ryan Major, retired Army Sgt. and veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, stepped on an improvised explosive device in Iraq in 2006 and is now a double leg amputee and is missing digits on both hands. The non-profit organization Team River Runner has taught Major to kayak with his injuries, along with several other veterans and their families, providing an outlet for both physical and emotional healing.
